Ideas for couples who have gone quiet
Not advice from a clipboard. Notes on the ordinary problem of loving someone for a long time and forgetting how to play with them.
Most writing about keeping a relationship interesting assumes the problem is that you stopped caring. Usually that isn't it at all. You have jobs, or small children, or a parent who needs help on weekends, and the evening you meant to spend together turns into two people on the same couch looking at two different screens. Nobody decided that. It just accumulated.
So the writing here starts from where couples actually are. What to say when it has been a while and neither of you wants to be the one to bring it up. How to suggest something playful without it landing like a performance review. What to do with a Friday night when going out isn't an option and neither of you can face another restaurant anyway.
Some of it will point back to what we make, which is a monthly roleplay scenario mailed to your door. Most of it won't, because the ideas here should be worth the read whether or not you ever buy anything from us. If a post only works as a sales pitch, it wasn't worth writing.
Two things you won't find. We don't do the coy, giggling register that treats adults like they've never had this conversation before, and we don't do clinical. Somewhere in between is where real couples actually talk to each other, and that's the register we aim for.

Is roleplay normal in a long-term relationship?
Yes. What it means depends on which of you asked, and there's one version worth watching.

Romance & Roleplay mails you a guided scenario every month. One guide each, written separately, so you both know your part and neither of you has to plan the evening. It arrives in a plain black envelope with nothing on the outside that says what it is.
